Noel Powell, Ph.D., Senior Director and Head of Chemistry, is responsible for the advancement of the Delix Therapeutics psychedelic-inspired drug discovery programs from initiation to IND filings.

Noel brings to Delix over 20 years of drug discovery experience in both large pharma and biotech where he has led research programs that resulted in >10 new chemical entities (NCEs) advancing into clinical development in multiple therapeutic areas (e.g., CNS, oncology, cardiovascular, and immunology).  A pioneer in the use of phenotypic screening for drug discovery in CNS psychiatric diseases, at Delix, he is applying his well-honed scientific rigor and experience to the identification and development of non-hallucinogenic psychotropic compounds for the treatment of unmet psychiatric diseases.

Dr. Powell has been named as co-inventor/co-author of >75 patents, peer-reviewed publications, and presentations.  Noel completed a NIH post-doctoral fellowship in the labs of Prof. William Roush at the University of Michigan.  He earned a Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry from the University of California, Irvine under the direction of Prof. Scott Rychnovsky and a B.A. degree in chemistry from Central College in Pella, IA.
