Michael Yang

Michael brings over 30 years of biopharmaceutical executive experience from roles that range from CEO of a privately held, clinical stage company to President of large enterprises generating billion-dollar revenue platforms. He currently serves on the boards of Pacira Biosciences and Ionis Pharmaceuticals. Michael is an operating partner of Artis Ventures, serving on several boards across the Artis portfolio. Previously, Michael served as CEO of Viacyte, a clinical-stage stem cell therapy company focused on diabetes which was acquired by Vertex Pharmaceuticals.

His background includes Chief Commercial Officer at Acadia Pharmaceuticals and a 20-year career at Janssen/Johnson & Johnson, serving as President of multiple franchises including Immunology, CNS, and the medical device companies Veridex and Therakos. He began his career at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing from San Diego State University
